Postponed Rural Life Conference in Kirksville
The Northeast Missouri Teachers Association meeting at the Kirksville Normal School is postponed indefinitely due to influenza. The event, formerly the Rural Life Conference, has run seven years with stronger programs. Science Hall rebuilding progresses and winter quarter begins December 30 with faculty returning from government service.

Local Soldier Dies of Wounds From World War I Action
William B Davis receives official word that his son Waggoner Otis Austin Davis died November 21 from wounds in France. He served in Company D of the 110 Ammunition Train, among the county’s first volunteers, with the family home on the old Lake Gehm place east of town.

Changes in Milling Rules by Missouri Food Administration
The Missouri Division of the Food Administration announces milling rule updates. Mills need not deliver substitutes with wheat flour sold to consumers or dealers.
