Lakota Boosters Club president Keith says there are not enough Indians or chiefs to lead the club. He urges community members to attend the next meeting at Lakota High School on Wednesday at 7 30 PM and to call 874 5515 to volunteer or run for office.
Two men arrested in Pisgah after the April 3 tornado were convicted of disorderly conduct and misconduct at an emergency and each given 30 days in jail by Judge William R. Hendrickson. Carl Newton and Jerry Tribbey receive consecutive terms totaling 60 days. Three others, P L Atwood Michael Byrum and Randall Byrum, were convicted of misconduct at an emergency and each got 10 days. obstructing official business charges were dismissed.
Butler County Prosecutor John F. Holcomb asked Ohio Attorney General William J. Brown to investigate the Monroe police department. He also urged a review of Oxford police for inadequate protection at times, citing an ongoing feud between Monroe Mayor Gordon Reed and the police chief Kenneth Cobb.
