Mrs Gene Isaacs of Saxton Court was elected chair of the Union Township Firemen's Dependent Fund Board. Michael Schiml was named secretary. First National Bank of Middletown to open Maud branch
The U S Comptroller of Currency approved First National Bank of Middletown to establish a Maud branch. Construction could start in 1977 with a late opening planned within 11 months, at the Cincinnati Dayton Road and Tylerville Road junction near Evelyns Kitchen. President Robert Q Millan says the branch reflects growth along I 75 corridor in Butler County.

Lakota graduate Marty Hutzelman nominated for Truman Scholarship
Marty Hutzelman, a 1976 Lakota graduate and current Ohio Northern University sophomore, is nominated for the Harry S Truman Scholarship. The award honors one student per state committed to government service. Hutzelman was co valedictorian at Lakota, active in student council, and served as a foreign exchange student in Germany this summer. She is the daughter of Donald and {Elizabeth} Hutzelman of 4525 Tylersville Road.
