Lakota Schools Open With Record Enrollment
Lakota School District expects 5800 students for the Sept 5 opening across six schools including the new Hopewell Junior School. The previous year had 5470 students as the district expands with a building program to handle growth. Superintendent Herbert Henderson notes grades six to eight at the new Cox Road and Lakota Junior Schools. Lower grades attend Liberty Union and Hopewell, while grades nine to twelve join the high school. The district staff will include 240 teachers.

Union Two Barns Destroyed by Fire in Union Township
A barn on Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Union Township was destroyed by a Sunday night fire, the second barn lost to fire in two weeks.
