9 Point Plan Proposed for Ukiah Recreation Setup
City Recreation Director Joe Juliana submitted a 1954 55 fiscal year report with nine recommendations including building a community recreation facility, pool filters, separate activity supervisors for women and men, a maintenance foreman, an administrative secretary, an assistant golf greenskeeper, an equipment depreciation program, and continued participation in Little Pony and Colt League baseball. Disbursements rose from 37,778.79 to 41,352.51, revenues from 19,250.20 to 12,344.88, and net costs from 24,528.59 to 29,007.78. per person costs dropped from 45 to 36 cents, and per participant costs from 29 to 25 cents. Highway patrolmen across the Mendocino Lake district are enforcing the litter bug law Capt. C. K. Harder said yesterday. Several citations were issued with most violations on Highway 101 due to heavy traffic. Motorists were cited for dumping garbage and tossing beer cans onto the highway.
