Ukiah area cities replying to the Ukiah Chamber of Commerce inquiry largely favor the city manager form of government. Of 59 responses, 31 support the manager system, with city sizes ranging from 2,500 to more than 2,000,000. The chamber will submit findings to the council for consideration.

Father Wins Custody After Stormy Suit in Ukiah
Robert Gambell a logging truck operator from Ukiah won custody of his two daughters aged 3 and 1 after a stormy hearing before Superior Judge C. C. McDonald. The children's mother Jewell Gambell was killed in an October auto accident near Grass Valley. Plywood Circus Sets One Day Show At Fairgrounds
The Fir Plywood Jubilee free show arrives at the 12th District Fairgrounds Tuesday November 17 with a plywood menagerie themed You Can Build Anything With Fir Plywood. Creatures include lion tiger hippopotamus giraffe fish and birds built by Lindstrom Cabinet Shop Tacoma. Children may climb on them and the caravan travels to towns across Washington Oregon and Northern California.
