In Thailand, terrorists threw two bombs near the king and queen during a southern mass rally. Police and military say at least 44 wounded, 13 seriously, with no reports of royal harm.
Superior Court Judge Arthur Broaddus issued a tentative ruling that the city must repeal its geothermal partnership resolution or submit the issue to voters. The council, already split 3 to 2 in July, faced options including appeal and further delays as final judgment is expected within 15 days.
California lieutenant governor Mervyn Dymally visited Ukiah to push Gov Brown’s plan to remove the business inventory tax and the unitary tax to spur growth. He touted a 21 city tour and discussed potential auto plants in Mendocino County as he outlined new offices and a rural economic task force.
