Board moves county facilities to Low Gap complex

The board of supervisors approved moving part of social services and other county offices to the Low Gap complex by early 1978. Planning, health, welfare and mental health will relocate to a remodeled building west of the sheriff’s office. 25 workers will occupy the old planning building. A new social services building and a county jail plan are drafted, with modular offices planned for Fort Bragg to ease traffic. Concerns about traffic circulation were raised by city planning officials.
