Bike operator injured in crash with car

A Ukiah motorcycle operator escaped with cuts and bruises Sunday at 12:15 p.m. on S State near Wabash when he attempted a U turn in front of a car. Taken to Ukiah General Hospital for treatment was John Snow 48 of 120 Poulos Court. Police reports that Snow was southbound on State Street when he pulled onto the shoulder and attempted a U turn not realizing that a car driven by Cabana Riddle 27 of 162 Bethel Lane was following. Police said that the Riddle car was being driven slowly at the time that it collided with the motorcycle accounting for the fact that Snow was not more seriously injured. Two thefts from parked cars were reported to Ukiah police over the weekend. Roy Humphrey of Ukiah reported that a rifle was taken from his car and Gary Smith of W Perkins reported the loss of fishing tackle from his vehicle. TACKLE STOLEN Winster Minton of San Francisco reported to the sheriff's office Sunday the test Saturday night of three fishing reels and rods cooking utensils and food from his camp at Lake Mendocino.
