Deputy wounds burglar during egg station burglary chase
A 20 year old Laytonville man, Robert William Searle, was wounded in the leg yesterday as he tried to flee a Noyo egg taking station south of Fort Bragg after burglarizing a trailer. Deputy Anglin fired to stop the escape, Searle was treated at Mendocino Coast hospital and jailed for burglary and probation violation. Sheriff Bartolomie says the use of firearms was justified.

Lone gunman robs Ukiah liquor store of $192
A lone gunman robbed Rod's Liquor at 1031 N State Ukiah last night around 10:55 p.m. He wore a stocking mask and a .38 revolver, demanded cash, and took $192 in loose bills before fleeing on foot. Clerks alerted police. officers found no suspect.
