Thornquist advances to Miss California in June with a $500 scholarship and local sponsor gifts.

Motorcycle crash kills Willits teacher Kennedy
Paul D. Kennedy a 33 year old Willits high school algebra teacher died Saturday night from injuries after a motorcycle car collision at Laughlin Way and Highway 101. Driver George Green 19 Redwood Valley and three passengers were injured. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Anker-Lucier Mortuary Willits with burial at Willits Cemetery. Memorials to the Willits high school Scholarship Association.

Ukiah Woman Charged After Shooting Husband
A 32 year old Ukiah woman Roberta Reyes is charged with assault with intent to commit murder after shooting her husband Edward Reyes 35 twice with a shotgun and revolver following an argument at their 301 Ford Street home. He was treated for chest and abdominal wounds and listed in good condition.
