Residents challenge a three year old General Plan advisory committee alleging exclusion from meetings and appointing authority. Officials defend the process noting 23 members and past precedents while citing three years of public outreach and a planned blanket variance proposal for nonconforming lands.

A Willits resident, Gerhard Meissner, 46, sued Hillside Hospital surgeons Dr Kenneth Young and Dr Bernarr Johnson anesthesiologist Dr Glenn Miller and several staff over hip operations on Jan 23 1975. The case ended Monday at 11 am after two hip surgeries with an implied six figure award near 250000. Meissner became paralyzed below the knee from a sciatic nerve injury and alleges a wrong blood type transfusion during corrective work.
