Surprise Party Marks Ukiah Man Birthday
A surprise birthday party was held Saturday evening at the Cypress Avenue home of Mrs. Harold C. Tuttle for John E. Brightenstine of Walnut Avenue. Attendees included his brother Elton Brightenstine and sister Daisy Reed, stepdaughters Mrs. Jack Jensen and Mrs. Billie Erickson, Mrs. Jensen's husband, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eberhard, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Galland, George Parrish, the honoree, and Mrs. Tuttle. Mrs. Galland played piano for old fashioned songs. Refreshments with blue and white birthday decor were served. Brightenstine received a handsome clock for his anniversary and a box of candy for Father's Day. He dined Sunday with daughter Mrs. Billie Erickson and family on Tedford Avenue. Mrs. Tuttle joined as a dinner guest. Monday evening Brightenstine was honored at the Senior Citizens supper in the school social hall.
