Judge orders Moon converts returned to mother protection

Superior Judge A B Broaddus named Elizabeth Coleman Albertson conservator for two Moon converts Nina Elizabeth Coleman and Teresa Ann Coleman, placing them in their mother's care. The court heard deprogramming concerns and the girls expressed a wish to avoid the Ideal City Ranch, while Miss Gordon testified of Moon gatherings and fundraising. The judge noted the girls remain impressionable and gave Mrs. Albertson permission to take them home to Pennsylvania.

Navy T-39 crash near Mountain View kills two

A Navy T-39 training plane crashed Sunday at about 11 a.m. off Mountain View Road 14 miles east of Highway 1, killing both occupants on a routine Alameda NAS flight. Lt. Randall Fraley, 29, of San Leandro, died. his wife and two children survive. The other pilot’s name was withheld. Deputies responded. bodies to be recovered from rugged hill country near Pt Arena and Boonville.

Argentine mutiny crushed as officers surrender

Buenos Aires reports mutinous air force officers surrender after a five day revolt that threatened President Isabel Peron and destabilized the government. Terms not disclosed in official communique. California lawmaker proposes local income tax swap for property tax cut

Assemblyman Robert Nimmo of Atascadero unveiled a constitutional amendment to replace 68 percent of residential property taxes with a local income tax to fund services. The plan would tax property only for services like sewers and police, shift non property services to the new tax, and place the measure before voters in November 1976.
