The Ukiah Unified school district personnel commission dropped its bid to hear the firing of two Title I teachers Virginia Whipple and Marilyn Roberts. The state hearing officer found no jurisdiction since the district board had not acted to suspend or dismiss. The teachers had faced May dismissal charges and pursued federal litigation with the district named as a defendant. The board set a January 9, 1973 decision date on the matter.
