Club of Demeter elects officers at potluck luncheon
The Club of Demeter, part of the National Grange, reelected Alice Trimble Arthur Burke Mattie London Lillian Alberti and LaVerne Compton to offices. Willis E. Compton was named sergeant at arms. Claude Trimble and Delphine Burke join the board for three years. Plans for drill team at the third annual California clubs conference in Chino March 3 include a Mexican theme South of the Border. Ukiah drill team will wear Mexican costumes. A bus will be chartered by LaVerne Compton captain. Her Willits phone 459-2247 and address 365 North Street.

William Comers celebrated 50 years of marriage in Ukiah
Mr and Mrs William Comer of Lorraine Street were honored at a golden wedding anniversary hosted by their children Eileen Crandall Hawaii Betty Duensing Chico and Clarence Comer Laytonville. About 75 guests attended a reception at the Assembly of God Church fellowship hall with a three tier cake. The couple married November 10 1922 in Sonora and spent the first two decades in Tuolumne before moving to Laytonville. They now enjoy retirement in Ukiah with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A large group of relatives traveled from multiple towns to attend.

Redwood Valley to hosts Christmas music program
The Redwood Valley School Chorus and Bands will present a Christmas music program Tuesday at 7 30 p m in the multipurpose room. Admission is free with optional donations to support school music activities. About 140 musicians in three bands and a chorus will perform with soloists in carols. The chorus will sing Do You Hear What I Hear arranged by Simeone. The beginning band performs 1A Carol of Long Ago arranged by Phillips. The advanced band features Christmas In Other Lands arranged by Hurrell. The 5th and 6th grade band will play Jingle Bells.

In a small bowl mix candied fruit pecans brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll crescent dough into two rectangles fill center third with fruit. Create a braided candy cane shape bake 375 degrees 15 to 20 minutes and finish with cherries or pecans and a sugar drizzle if desired.
Dinner tickets offered for seniors at center
One hundred senior tickets are available at the Senior Center 601 N State Street for a Christmas Day dinner served 2 to 3 30 p.m. on December 25 with ham and turkey as main dishes for $1. Reservations are required. Sixty full course dinners were served on Thanksgiving to seniors who stayed to visit and play cards.
