Three killed and three injured in head-on crash near Squaw Rock
A late Thursday head-on collision four miles north of the Sonoma County line left Emilio Albor, 36, his wife Maria Albor, 36, and Rudolfo Carrillo dead. Albors from Oakland and Carrillo from Mexico, with the couple’s four-year-old son in critical condition at Sonoma County Community Hospital. A 42-year-old Mexican passenger, Valentin Abrego, had minor injuries. The other vehicle’s driver, 49-year-old Jack Schlotter of Eureka, sustained moderate injuries and was treated and released. Schlotter was cited for minimal injuries due to seat belt use.

The decision allowed 22 motel units and a 75 seat restaurant, with a strict open space easement preventing expansion. Ukiah businessman Lee Enemark filed nominating papers to enter the March 2 1976 city council race becoming the first candidate. Six people have taken out papers including Wallace Behm Mary Snyder Jim Weller Maurice Cox Jr and Daniel Hamburg. Board adopts coastal land purchase resolutions and protests
The board of supervisors passed two coastal land acquisition resolutions urged in lieux tax payments and immediate purchase of Hunter's Lagoon and Whiskey Shoals on the south coast. A separate Avila resolution targets in-lieu tax payments and sent to all 15 California coastal counties. The body also protested rural mail service cutbacks after Navarro post office closure and considers consolidating offices in Willits.
