Ukiah plans a special street dance Monday night to raise funds for the emergency polio drive. A five room house won from local mills will be the grand prize with other items auctioned. The event runs 8:30 pm on School street with music by the Skylarks and contributions welcomed from merchants.

Deadline for Voter Registration in September
County Clerk James Broaddus warns that the deadline to register for the November general election is Thursday September 9. A registration deputy will operate in front of J C Penney on School Street for the next three Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clerk’s office will stay open until 9 p.m. on September 7 8 and 9 to aid late registrants. After September 9 the books will not reopen until after the election.
