Reagan tax limit plan moves to Assembly and public preview

California Governor Ronald Reagan seeks a tax and spending limit via a constitutional amendment. Norman Topping of Californians for Lower Taxes says petition circulation has begun and a statewide election is targeted. Assemblyman Joe A. Gonsalves introduces the measure for quick public trial, with Senate consideration by Lagomarsino. The proposal would cost taxpayers 568000 first year and 236000 annually thereafter for new administration procedures.

Hendy Woods project returns for public hearing

The 800 acre Hendy Woods subdivision along the Navarro River northwest of Philo in Anderson Valley gets another planning commission hearing Thursday at 2:25 pm. No action on Masonite Land Corp. proposal now. New members Emery Escola and Charles Barra to be briefed. environmental impact report decision to be continued. Also on the agenda: environmental guidelines review, a mobile home park use permit near Boonville, and another mobile home park permit on S State Street Ukiah at Plant Rd.

Ukiah City Council Set To Hear Condominium Code Changes

At 8 p.m. the Ukiah city council will hold a public hearing on adding Article 12a to Chapter 2 Division a of the city code to regulate condominium development. A status report on senior citizens recreation funding, an airport weight limit and use fees, and CEQA guidelines adoption are on the agenda. The meeting is open to the public.

Mendocino County Citizens Council forms to study local issues

A new grass roots group the Mendocino County Citizens Council forms with well known directors to address environmental and social issues. It will work with existing groups and rely on citizen participation with a full time coordinator Terry Scott for at least a year and includes board members Eunice Knutson Malcolm King Deron Edmeades Richard Gardner Frank Rust and Tom Mon Pere. Jim Luther will serve as legal adviser. The council aims to amass information to present a strong position across land use resources economy health care housing local government transportation and recreation. NorCoa hearing on Mendocino Community Hospital bed change

NorCoa Health plans a public hearing Thursday in Ukiah on licensing 18 acute psychiatric beds at Mendocino Community Hospital.
