Tyrone Borough Disorder and Ouster Proceedings

A group of three young men and two others were fined for disturbing the peace on Park and Washington avenues. They served twelve hours in the borough lock up after failing to pay fines, while police warn that such street disturbances must stop. The Gas and Water Company ouster case saw delays awaiting a potential supreme court hearing. Local notices include staff changes at Adams Express and Tyrone railroad routes.

Tyrone man jailed after smashing store window during drunken visit

A Tuesday night incident in Tyrone ended with William Lawnaz, a visiting man of color, arrested after he battered the door of Sam Cosel’s store with a large derrick while intoxicated. He was released after no cash was available to cover the broken glass, as authorities deemed the peace violation punishment sufficient. Separately, a quiet wedding occurred at Rev. K. H. Gilbert’s home on Logan Avenue between Wilbur B. Edmundson and Miss Nannie J. Nearhoof with Miss Ida Nearhoof as bridesmaid. The couple then hosted a reception at the bride’s sister’s home on Bald Eagle Avenue. Edmundson works as a brakeman at Tyrone station.
