Sunnyside Schools Adopt Near Full Day Plans
Sunnyside School District plans full day schedules for fall barring construction delays. Superintendent Herrera warns some students may attend staggered sessions if the 22 classroom addition and expanded admin area are not finished by opening day September 4. Lunch program may be unavailable for high school students if facilities remain incomplete. Additional construction includes 25 classroom Elvira School and two junior high expansions, with enrollment projected at 5,168, up 10 percent from last year. Elementary shifts kept part-time last year. Elvira boundary lines defined to include areas north alongside Calle de Casas Lindas, Missiondale road, and Santa Cruz River.
