The proposed measure to end public readings of ordinances returns to the City Council Monday. Mayor Lew Davis argues lengthy reads waste time as all members study laws and the public rarely listens. Also on the agenda is a traffic ordinance revision to raise speed limits on eight main arteries and reduce on six, including East 29th Street amid petitions from both sides.
