Stockholders will consider proposals for improving the Santa Fe railway system and consolidating the main line with its branches. The plan aims to streamline operations and expand capacity across key routes and subsidiaries.
An elaborate circular to stockholders outlines a consolidation plan to be voted on at the December 11 meeting in Topeka. The proposal includes acquiring Eastern Oklahoma Railway Kiowa Chickasha Fort Smith Midwest properties and buying stocks and bonds of related firms to unify the Santa Fe system. The merged network would run about 8500 miles with directors Ripley Smith Steele and Jones up for term expiration.
In West Bloomfield a workman was killed when a mule kicked him after Italian laborers found a crab in a dredge and placed it on the mule as a joke. The man died instantly from a head injury.

Bellevue hospital doctors treat Patrick McGrath a sewer digger admitted October 30 with typhoid fever. In two days his body turned black from toes to waist though he shows no typhoid symptoms and enjoys good health, with laughter and jokes from his coworkers. Doctors fear the black area may spread toward the heart.
In Chester Connecticut a new liquor scheme has appeared with wooden pails each holding a gallon of whisky sent C. O. D. to named residents by the express company. Recipients may pay and take the content or refuse delivery. Some respected locals are on the consignment list and the town reacts with quiet indignation.
W T Bergin, a famed desert prospector from Colton, reports the death of George Lembecke of China who fell seventy five feet into a precipice near Inyo county. Lembecke, entangled by wild grapevines, was left to die and was found by Bergin after a weeklong search marked by buzzards. Bergin buried the body and marked the grave, noting Lembecke was about 40 and formerly worked in beet sugar in China.

Governor Taft reports from Manila that the ladrones who murdered School Superintendent D. C. Montgomery have been captured.
The Evangelical Lutheran church choir on McAdoo avenue and the Boulevard, Jersey City, signed a unique resolution. It requires any member marrying within a year from October 28 to pay a $100 fine to the remaining singers. The seven women and two men note past choirs dissolved by marriages.
Indianapolis dispatch reports two men killed and several injured in a freight and work train wreck on the Hamilton and Dayton line three miles east of the city this morning. One death described as fatal among the injured. Authority and exact causes not disclosed.

In Columbus Ohio on November 8 Homer Cramer of Groveport shot at his former sweetheart Alameda Burke, grazing her cheek and hitting her left breast before taking his own life. The woman survived.
A sensational report notes that SHO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS were married and later discovered they were not properly mated, as their husbands swapped their wives in a complex domestic arrangement.
Four persons James and William Eddington Julia and Effie Eddington are jailed on bigamy charges after allegedly exchanging wives and living in new marriages for two years. New York report says Mary Ann McCuster, 60, was found dead in bed with a crushed skull. Police arrested her husband, 70, who went to the station and claimed his wife was dead.
A morning fire destroyed the Nonpariel Cork company plant and the McAndrews Forbes liquor house in Camden New Jersey. The total loss is estimated at a quarter of a million dollars. One fireman suffered serious burn injuries.
