Mrs. Craven received a fifty thousand dollar settlement offer while rejecting a single time demand of three hundred thousand dollars tied to an inheritance case. The dispute concerns the heirs and a disputed round million figure.
In San Francisco on June 3, the Fair estate dispute ends as Mrs. Nettie Craven accepts 60000 to settle her claim to James O. Fair's 20 million. The heirs Charles L. Fair Hermann Oelrichs and Mrs W K Vanderbilt Jr gain full control. Seven years of litigation and nearly a million spent by the heirs conclude with Craven dropping her bid to become widow of the late millionaire.

In Ponce Porto Rico on June 38 four men named Bor pabe Acre Jose Ramona Troche Ca dena and Juan Torres were executed for murder robbery and outrage committed in October 1898 at Guazo near Adjuntas. A tornado hit Louisburg in Platteville Wisconsin last evening demolishing barns houses and fences. Edward Ward a well to do farmer was killed. Heavy rain followed causing widespread crop damage.
Washington June 3 President invited to San Antonio in October but may fix date for an important household event. Mrs Roosevelt will sail with children to Oyster Bay on Dolphin next Sunday. The family plans a late September return to Washington and November stay at Deer Park possibly with the Japanese minister and family at Cape May. Corbin's wife also appears among these social arrangements.
Paris June 3 At the Elysee Palace President Loubet presiding Premier Waldeck Rousseau prevented the cabinet resignations at today meeting. An exchange of regrets between the president and cabinet members closed the session.

Heavy rains caused Hickory and Spring creeks to overflow, leaving three feet of water in many first floors and disrupting streetcar service. The penitentiary partial inundation did not halt convict work. Local businesses suffered extensive losses.
