Officials investigate a county roofing project after records show plywood and related materials charged to the county on August 9. Deputy Dupnik says some work possibly done on county time and documents may be falsified while eight workers are questioned.
A telephoto photo dated August 10 shows a roof job at 8926 E Harborage Dr. Time cards indicate White Dugan and Richards worked regular county time that day while Faith and Seward were on vacation.
Clifton AP confirms Town Councilman Renak Waldorf resigns while four town officials including Mayor Julio Tavisam councilman David McCullar and Thomas Agui lar face recall. Waldorf says the resignation is for business reasons and not tied to the recall.
A Sierra Vista boy, 9 year old Kenneth A. Whittom, died after being ejected from a pickup that overturned on State Route 82 near Sonoita in Santa Cruz County. Driver Frances J. Whitlam, 33, and passengers Epifania Banks, 44, her son Tony Banks, 12, were hospitalized in critical or guarded condition with serious injuries.
David W. Barndollar won 1300 in a Superior Court verdict against O Rielly Motor Co for a used car sold as a 1972 Pontiac but later found to have a 1967 Chevrolet engine.
