Death inquiry halted as body moved before autopsy order
In Fort Worth on February 3, Edward Throckmorton's body was removed from the hospital to an undertaker and embalmed before a court-ordered autopsy. Heyburn centered on a bill to erect a Confederate navy valor monument at Vicksburg Miss to honor the siege’s semi centennial. The measure carried a $50,000 appropriation and was laid over after Heyburn’s objection. The Senate scheduled votes on arbitration treaties for March 6 and passed a district politics inquiry. Other bills approved included land sales in the Crow Creek Sioux reservation and reforms for homestead entries in western reclamation projects. A lighthouse in Pearl Harbor Hawaii and construction of light-house tenders were authorized.

The twentieth annual report of the auditor of public accounts shows Illinois had 563 building, loan and homestead associations in 1911. The sector posted a net gain of twenty eight for the year.
