Wage Cut Is Demanded in Interstate Wage Talks

A two year contract is asked by miners versus a four year pact proposed by operators. The conference resumes Monday after Saturday meetings. Letters from manufacturers nationwide urge a peaceful settlement to avert fuel shortages impacting industries. The miners reaffirm a constitutional clause banning members of the National Civic Federation, and condemn the Boy Scout movement as harmful to labor, arguing it breeds strike breakers.
