Pekin China Jan 27 The armistice between the government and the republicans likely will be extended beyond 8 o'clock Monday morning despite an imperial edict creating Yuan Shi Kai a marquis. Yuan appears to favor abdication and the Chinese people expect the throne to yield without further fighting. The throne reiterates it will abide by the national assembly’s decision on future government.
In Plainview Arkansas a six year old boy, son of farmer J. L. James, accidentally killed his 38 year old sister when the child, taking a shotgun from a bed, pulled the trigger while handling the weapon. The incident occurred near Plainview, Fort Smith region, reported Jan 27.
