St. Louis visitors tour Shamrock mine area then head to Portland
Langenberg and several St. Louis residents learned this week that Mesers, Burk, Bollmann and Wittmann arrived at Thompson's Falls Montana to visit the Shamrock mine. They were to be joined by J. W. Garnet and the group proceeded to Portland to attend the Lewis and Clark Exposition.
Burial of Mrs. Healey at Troy Church with large attendance
The funeral for Mrs. Mary Ann Healey occurred last Saturday at 1:30 pm from the family home to the M E church, attended by the Miners' Union and Neosha Council, with Rev. A Vandaveer leading the service. Burial followed at Troy cemetery. she was 49 years old, born February 21 1855 in Staffordshire England. Her husband Wm Healey survives, as do five of eight children, and two brothers Joseph Wilber of Salt Lake City and George Wilber of Staffordshire.

Vandalia cutting affray leaves ex Alderman Schmidt injured
Ex Alderman George Schmidt of Vandalia, known to Trojans through Kinloch Telephone Co connections, was badly injured trying to quell a fierce Vandalia fight. Jessie Davis and A. J. Howell started the quarrel. Charles Howard and Schmidt were assaulted with a knife and knucks. Davis and Howell bound over for $3,000 each amid threats of lynching. Sheriff Witten escorted prisoners away. Davis has a history of using a knife in fights. Schmidt could lose sight in his right eye.

Troy City Council Advances Electric Line Ordinance
The Troy Illinois city council met August 8 1905 with roll call and readings on a proposed ordinance for a long distance electric line. A three member attorney consult committee including the mayor was formed. Bills for Dr D Schott and Louisa Butcher were acted on and adjournments set. An August 9 special meeting discussed the pond of Rarick and Snacker and the dramshop license transfer to Rarick & Snacker. A stray cow damaged a Troy road crossing in Edwardsville Intelligencer reporting.
