Pittsburg August 21. A platform 50 by 50 feet collapsed during a corner stone ceremony for the Beth David Russian Hebrew Orthodox synagogue on Miller street. More than two hundred spectators fell fifteen feet into a cellar. three rabbis injured but not fatally. Policeman Adam Lesteweski and Rabbis Ashchinsky Graffman and Bloom among the injured. About five hundred people were carried down as a brass band led Zionists forward.
