Marriage That Wasn't To Be in Vermont Tragedy
Deputy Police Commissioner Harris Lindsley of New York City and Miss Evelyn P. Willing of Chicago, who were to marry next week, were killed when their automobile collided with a North Branch train at Pike's crossing near Bennington Vermont. Crazed by Heat and Liquor Ends in Fatal Stabbing
In St Joseph Missouri on August 15 William A Linn a laborer driven mad by heat and liquor fatally stabbed Harry Jacobs an aged mechanic. An officer and two citizens tried to capture him but he escaped and later fought his family at home.
