Scout Council Honors Four With Silver Beaver Awards
Four members of the Fort Orange Uncle Sam Council received Silver Beaver honors at Camp St. Robert N. Allen in South Bethlehem during a campfire service and council meeting. The event drew 192 council members and families and featured citations for distinguished service to Scouting. Recipients named included Albert Cahill Latham Francis J. Curtis Kermit R. Gulden and William M. Armstrong, with ceremonies and a barbecue accompanying the awards.

Nominees are chosen by a council wide committee and by nomination from fellow Scouters. The outdoor and campfire programs are outlined with leaders and participants including Lawrence E Davey and Dr William Fuller. tributes were paid to the late Judge Edward N Scheiberling. Stephen Getz presided as president at the council meeting. George L Johnson described a 9,000 boy all-Scout show at the RPI Field House on April 6. William H Geary named 1968 chairman of adult membership enrollment program.

Delaware Man Faces Four Charges In Police Court
A 45-year-old Delaware man James Kleles employed in Troy was arraigned on four charges after a hit and run probe. He pleaded guilty to two motor vehicle counts and innocent to two felonious firearm charges. Police say he stole license plates, drove a two-tone Buick, and concealed a sawed off rifle in his car. William Oliver, 46, of Johnsonville, was hospitalized with head injuries after the incident.
