Ruth Hall of Buffalo said the 20,000 member group urged pay from 1800 to 2100 dollars annually, a 48 hour week, paid vacations, night day rotation, sick leave, definite hospital personnel practices, and better living conditions to attract and retain graduates. The report argues nurses earn less than elementary teachers and cites neglect by hospital authorities in raising standards.
