Assemblyman Neil W. Kelleher seeks a joint conference with Congressman Carlton King and state highway officials to locate responsibility for missing Troy highway markers. The Rensselaer County Bar Association votes to recommend making the public defender district attorney and Troy police justice full‑time with private practice prohibited and salaries set. Copies went to the county board clerk city clerk state senator and assemblyman. The proposal cites study of workloads and consultations with current officeholders. A suggested salary figure of 23 000 is noted in discussions.

Francis A. Murray a former assistant in the city assessor office was named by City Manager Sidney C. Smith as a temporary replacement for City Assessor Charles J Ellett. Ellett suspended himself to clear up matters concerning me as a public official. Murray has long ties to City hall including past service as assistant assessor alderman and Industrial Commission member.
The Hoosie Valley Home makers met in October at Miss Janet Stover home with a cookie exchange. Mrs Dorothy Clayton spoke on Tray Painting and announced a tray lesson upon receipt. Knitting lessons at Mrs Ethel Quidge home. Future events include Polish dinner by Mrs Charlotte Wanko Noy at Hoosie Valley High School and Christmas wreaths lessons by Mrs Joyce Conner. The Idle Hour Home Bureau met at Mrs Ann Frisino home with October Workshop articles shown. Nov 14 special meeting at Mrs Edith Ward home. The next regular meeting is Nov 28 at Mrs Douglas Clum home with Mrs Helen Aiken teaching Christmas balls and yarn dolls. Philip Knapp Jr returned from Syracuse after attending NY State School Boards meeting representing AB Dick Business Machines.
Adams County licensing clerks found two 1968 license plate sets with identical markings bearing the word HELP. The plates, manufactured at the Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City, were returned to the penitentiary.
