Two Injured As Truck Overturns Near Defreestville

A pickup truck overturned about two miles north of Defreestville after the driver, Philip Richardson, 38, tried to avoid a stopped school bus. The bus was unloading when another car approached from the rear. Richardson and Willan Richardson, 17, sustained injuries. Carl Knapp, 52, may have a fractured shoulder. Troopers from East Greenbush investigated.

Knights Council Confers Second Degree in Troy

Troy Council, K of C conferred the second degree on 36 candidates at its meeting in Third Street council rooms. James J. Fox presided. Charles A. Gussindy and George F. B. Cundiff led the degree with over a hundred members present. Plans were made for the third degree before year end.

Partridge Hunter Brings Home Bear in Bloomingdale

John Rogers of Bloomingdale hunted wild game and returned with a thirty pound bear. He reported finding the bear in a tree and knocking it down with his first blast from a shotgun, then the bear fled another tree and a second shot felled it with smaller pellets.
