Water Restored Soon At Veterans Hospital Albany

The Veterans Hospital at 113 Holland Ave Albany expected full water service by noon after a pile driver from J N Futa Co broke into the main line during boiler replacement work. Rensselaer judge places rapist on probation after crisis plea

Joseph T. LaManda Jr., 31, of East Greenbush pleaded guilty to third degree rape involving a 14-year-old. After claiming he would kill himself if jailed, Judge Don G. Cholakis imposed five years probation with strict conditions and a warning against violations. The case originally carried second degree rape and unlawful dealing with a child charges.
