Begin Demolition Work On Troy Brownstones
Preliminary demolition has begun on Troy Fifth Avenue brownstones between Broadway and Fulton Street. Bloomfield Wrecking Co. started hand work removing light fixtures and plumbing, with rear portions razed first while interior work clears before cranes move in. Work will progress from the rear toward Fifth Avenue.

Boy awarded 6500 in settlement after street collision
The Rensselaer County Judge approved a 6500 award in a settlement for Arthur J. Redcross four year old son of Mrs Beverly A Redcross struck by James B Wells of Troy. The incident occurred September 14 when the boy walked into the street in front of his home. He was treated at St Marys Hospital eight days for a chin and scalp laceration and ruptured spleen later removed. Medical expenses totaled 1132 with Blue Cross and Blue Shield reimbursing all but 50. Attorney J Albert Barsamian represented the boy and his mother.

The funeral for Russell J. Davies longtime florist and former Greenwich chief of police was conducted yesterday at Garrett Funeral Home Greenwich with Rev. John B. Columbus of Centenary Methodist Church officiating. Bearers included Raymond Ackner Beecher Baldwin Joseph Wever Ivyl Whipple John Kenyon and Wilfred Clark. burial was in Greenwich Cemetery vault with interment planned for Poultney Vermont in the spring.
