Strict School Fire Safety Laws Sought
The Wiremen's Association of New York-FASNY announced that school fire safety will be the keynote of its 1968 legislative program. President Fowler E. Finch said volunteer firemen seek strict enforcement of regulations in public schools and inclusion of private and parochial schools and colleges. He urged a link between school alarms and local fire departments amid noted violations. Proposals include restricting emergency vehicle lights, requiring spark arrestors on locomotives, and a statewide fire prevention code for municipal permissive adoption.
