Ben Becker to Speak at Troy on Disadvantaged Child Series

Ben Becker of Phi Up Schuster High School Albany will speak at Troy High School today at 4 p.m. on Teaching the Disadvantaged Child. The ESEA Title I funded series is open to public and parochial teachers in Troy receiving program aid. Troy teachers earn 2 in service hours. Becker has 40 years in Albany schools, Schuyler faculty since 1934, was principal 17 years, earlier a coach and Olympic boxing coach. Navy veteran. Big Bend National Park noted as a 1 107 square mile Texas wilderness area.

Superintendent to Report On Special Aid Program

Hoosick Falls Central School receives federal Title 1 aid with a three year program supporting a psychologist, speech therapist, attendance supervisor, guidance secretary and summer school. Leonard to report at Grossinger's conference December 10–12 and to attend Albany Negotiator Training on the Taylor Law. Board discusses maternity leave, next year budget, state aid timing, and hiring three teachers for English, mathematics and sixth grade. The district will continue purchasing large band instruments and extend special prices for smaller ones.
