A preliminary hearing on 31 charges against Officers Thomas Ross John McKown and Charles Miranda is scheduled for Wednesday. Corporation Counsel James Harrington says a different process will be used with a possible settlement before arbitration.
Cohoes prepares for the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot at 9 a.m. in front of city hall Mohawk Street. Five races for men women boys and girls with open divisions for different age groups and trophy awards. Cohoes churches sponsor a 7 30 p m Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at St Joseph s Church with Rev Joyce Giles executive director of the Capital District Council of Churches as featured speaker. A fellowship hour follows in St Joseph s School Hall and offerings benefit the Cohoes Community Action Program.

Waterford Halfmoon High School hosts Entertainment 77 a two and a half hour charity variety show Friday or Saturday at 8 p.m. The event raises funds for Waterford Central Catholic School and features writer director Joseph Corbeil and a cast of 77 local performers with acts from The Fleet's In to Do Ri Mi. Tickets available from cast members and local outlets.
Gene F. Senecal of Brunswick was honored at a testimonial retirement dinner at Scot Mar Restaurant Waterford for 25 years in scouting. He holds the Silver Beaver Award and Scouters Key and received an engraved plaque from Pack 632 Waterford.
