Vandalism at Fitchburg Avenue garage damages mix

Police report a weekend vandalism at Andrew Gagliardi’s storage garage on Fitchburg Avenue Mechanicville with 6250 damages. Mirrors broken, doors forced, jukebox glass shattered, records smashed, three boys aged 12 to 14 questioned and handed to parents. Other break in at Knights of Columbus home checked, cigaret vending tampered with. Halloween paint spraying at Miss Mastrianni home under investigation with no arrests.

Clothing Drive at Mechanicville Church for Needy

The Thanksgiving clothing drive at Church of the Assumption Mechanicville will run Monday and Tuesday in the parish hall from 7 to 9 pm. Parish pastor Rev. Dante L. Girolami announced. The Girl Scouts investiture is at 3:30 pm today in the new Assumption hall. Rosary Altar Society devotions precede a regular meeting. A total of $978 was contributed in October toward the new convent fund.

Mrs Izzo Leads 512 Triple in Mechanicsville Bowling

Mrs Virginia Izzo posted a 512 triple and 196 single to top the Women's Independent Bowling Club standings in Mechanicsville. Other scores included Mrs Rose Hanskell 190-510 and Mrs Lillian Matrazzo 483 while four-game team wins went Capran over Mijos and Matrazzo over Canada Dry. Motor Pool beat Russos and Ahearns plus Ponzillo's each captured two games.

World Understanding workshop at First Methodist Church

A World Understanding workshop will be held at the First Methodist Church in Mechanicville starting 9:30 a.m. today, sponsored by the Troy Methodist Conference Women’s Society of Christian Service, ending 8:30 p.m. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. a study session on Faith for all adults meets at the parsonage. The Hunters Moon Fair runs at the church with ham supper servings at 5 and 6 p.m.

Legion Post Observes Veterans Day Ceremony in Mechanicville

The Henry F. Lefko Post American Legion and Auxiliary observed Veterans Day with services at the River Road monument in Mechanicville.
