Tenant Sues Landlord For Injury In Albany Court

The jury in a $20,000 negligence suit against landlord Joseph Grove of Oneonta was selected in Supreme Court for Rensselaer County after admissible jurors who are property owners were required. Plaintiff Afra Gyo B. Cumomgs alleges injury June 1 1945 when a wine sash dropper struck her hand. her attorney David Rosenfeld seeks damages. Defendant Grove is represented by Taylor and Taylor. A separate verdict of no cause of action was returned against Donald and Charles Vine doing business at Albany under the Town House name. The plaintiff, represented by John P. Weatherwax, sued for damages alleging serious injury Oct 4 while ascending steps to the Town House door. The case was heard Thursday before Justice Isadore Bookstein.

Automobile collision suit settles in North Greenrash case

Yesterday the attorneys summed up their sides to the jury and Justice Bookstein charged on the law. The case of Frank G. Cummhey, assistant district attorney of Rengselaar County against Charles J. Belolle with Margaret Boylan was submitted to the jury after a settlement was announced. The action stemmed from an automobile accident last August with the settlement amount not disclosed.

Church Plans Annual Dedication Festival

The Church of the Ascension announces its annual Dedication Festival with services on Ascension Day and a choral service at 8 a.m. A Men's Club breakfast follows the 8 a.m. service. Confirmation will be presided by Bishop G. Ashton Oldham at 8 a.m. daily. An evening sermon by Rev. Grieg Tabur is set for the day. The observance ends June 3 with a parish dinner and evensong led by the priests' choir.

Former Troy Man Expires Suddenly

William G. Welch, longtime Troy resident, died suddenly at his Spring Avenue home after gardening on Saturday. Coronary thrombosis listed as cause. He was born in Lithuania, came to the U.S. 4 ½ years ago, and worked for Ludlow Valve Co. Survivors include his wife Beatrice and a son Jal. Funeral Held for Accident Victim Marie Rus sell

The funeral for Mrs. Marie Russell who died from an automobile crash at Pittstown was held yesterday from John H. Lodge Funeral Home. Her daughter, a hospital patient, and the driver of the car were involved. coroner ruled accidental death and a state trooper investigated. Boy Hurt Cleaning Gun at East Side Home

Dolbert McCarthy, 17, son of Mr and Mrs Albert McCarthy of 74 Maple Avenue, was accidentally shot Sunday at his home while cleaning a 22 caliber rifle. He was taken to Leonard Hospital for emergency surgery. Dr BE Connally said his condition is fair this afternoon.

May Day procession at Sac led Heart School

About 400 children participated as Miss Carolee Finn crowned the Blessed Virgin during the annual May Day event at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Attendants wore white blue and yellow robes. Rev. Accident case yields $10,000 in verdicts for father and son

Sealed verdicts total $10,000 for social injuries awarded to Joseph O’Rourke Jr. and his father Marin O’Rourke in a Cohoosa County accident case.
