Mrs Vincent G McKee was elected president of the Burgh Council PTA at a meeting led by Mrs James New. Other officers chosen include Clayton Stewart first vice president Joseph F Corrigan second vice president Mrs Howard Tostegaard secretary and treasurer. The 1436 member group will conduct a spaghetti supper April 21 a rummage sale April 18 a benefit film April 16 and a science fair April 18 with related unit activities in Haskell Powers Whipple and Lansingburgh High units.

Conduct Funeral Of Mrs. Bowers
The funeral of Mrs. Albert H. Bowers was held yesterday afternoon from the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Robert A. Klein of St. Mark's Methodist Church officiating. Bearers were Roy L. Kehn, Earl L. Ward, Albert P. De Nault, and Harvey J. Kern. Interment was in Sand Lake Union Cemetery where Mr. Klein officiated.

Bandit, Police Sergeant Die In Gun Battle
Chicago reports that 25 year old ex convict Gary Horton was found shot in a Northwest Side gangway after Sgt. Gerald Doll died from wounds. Horton, sought for the sergeant’s killing, apparently died by friendly fire from Doll. Horton’s companion Dalis Jones was wounded by Officer William Reddon during a chase of a stolen car. Horton had prior arrests and parole records, including auto theft and battery.
