Privy Council Rejects Plea Of Jew
The Privy Council dismissed a petition to appeal the death sentence of Dov Bela Gruner, an 18-year-old British Army veteran and Hungarian Jew linked to the underground in Palestine. The decision means the execution will proceed after his January 1 military court conviction for the Ramat Gan police station attack. Frank Gruner of New York City filed the petition on Gruner’s behalf, but the committee ruled the uncle cannot pursue the appeal.
