Estate Letters Issued On Miss Bessie Pine

Letters of administration were issued for the estate of Miss Bessie Pine, daughter of the Inter K B Pine founder who led a shirt and collar business that became United Shirt and Collar Co. The estate was valued at less than 1,000 dollars. Judge Edward J Donohue granted the letters in Rensselaer County Surrogate Court following Marcus L Filley’s application.

Police Pension Fund Gains From Parking Ticket Fines

The Troy Police Court drive on unpaid parking tickets has netted $1,984 in fines since Feb 24 with daily receipts ranging from 50 to 225 as announced by Judge Thomas J. O Conner. Funds go to the police pension, with minimal other revenue noted from meters and city real estate. Beneficiaries include Warren A Pine of Atlanta and relatives listed in court papers. The Pine family once owned Pine and Adams Shirt and Collar Co in Lansingburg, later becoming United Shirt and Collar Co before ending operations. Lion Brand Shirt and Collar Corp. later reused the Pine plant site.

Trojans Elected By Tale Concern

Two Troy men were elected to the two highest positions in the International Tale Corp at its annual election week in New York City. Robert H. McCarthy named president and Thomas W. Rourke first vice president. McCarthy also becomes president of allied Oswegatchic Power and Light Corp.

Compromise City Tax Deals For R P I Land Expansion

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute agreed to a $250 full settlement covering taxes due 1890 to 1946 on 21 acres conveyed by Emma Williamson of Brookline Massachusetts for expansion plans. Several other tax compromises approved including 700 for 231 233 Fourth Street site and 741.02 on 366 Second Avenue. Manila treaty vote spans bases.

Plan Funeral Of John W. G. Shires

The funeral for John W Grinwold Shires of Waterville will be held today at Grinwold Funeral Home Schenectady with Rev Tom Moss officiating. He was husband of Florence M Little and former Banking and Security West Co employee. He died at his sister in law Adabell Wheeler's home in Lansing Mich. Survived by wife daughter and grandson, one brother, and several nieces and nephews. Burial at Wood Cemetery Troy.
