Rensselaer Residents Press Urban Renewal Answers
Residents in Rensselaer mobilize to slow an urban renewal plan set to replace 14 homes with 80 family units. At a Monday meeting they sought details on how far the project will extend beyond 144 planned demolitions, questioned standards for "sub standard housing," and pledged petitions and further meetings to obtain city master plan access and renderings. Local clergy attended and urged community involvement to influence the process.
