Rensselaer County Still Dry Despite Milk Dumpings
Rensselaer County dairy farmers protest milk prices while no milk is spilled in the county. The National Farmers Organization backs the strike, but local farmers say dumping is not the answer. Transportation costs cut profits, and many milk is marketed in Connecticut and Rhode Island where prices are higher. Washington County reports no dumping incidents amid high production, with Columbia County similarly unaffected.
