Parking meter receipts rise despite meter removals
Police Chief Frank B. Kendall reported that parking meter receipts for IMD in the first two months of 1946 rose to 4878.91, more than double the 1945 period and nearly 600 more than the previous year. January totals were 2341.64 versus 2040.33 last year. February 23596.06 versus 2065.50. He attributed the gain to stricter enforcement and greater turnover with more than 100 meters removed from business streets, maintaining that receipts would not drop.
