Red Cross Plans Annual Meeting in Rensselaer County
The Red Cross County Chapter will hold its annual meeting at 12 15 pm today at The Hendrick Hudson with Harold J Marshall as speaker. Officers will be elected, reports given by treasurer Oliver F Gang and annual fund chair Frank J Mealy, and awards presented to veterans and First Aid volunteers.

Faith Mills Act for Employee Vote on Unionization
The board of Faith Mills Inc adopted a resolution for an employee vote under the NLRB supervision after requesting an election on May 20. Some 150 workers at mills in Averill Park West Sand Lake and Troy are on strike over union recognition. Union official Sy Cohen says the strike began when the company declined to recognize workers rights to organize. Employees are to meet with union reps to plan next steps. Six British soldiers were killed and three wounded in a patrol attack in Ampang, Malaya.

Emma Willard Alumnae fund tops four thousand dollars
At the annual Emma Willard Alumna Association meeting, secretary Robert Purse announced the group raised 4,640.80 last year from 668 contributors and two chapters. Mia Janet Rourke of Troy was named successor president. Leland Lusty remains president briefly, with officers elected for 1930-31 and a three year director slate chosen. Evelyn Margaret Seeley, daughter of Mr and Mrs Arrington J Seeley, will graduate Friday.
