Troy man held in Hoosick Falls assault
State Police in Brunswick arrested John M. Schnoop 22 of 549 Second Ave, Troy, on assault in the second degree after a Hoosick Falls woman was beaten while babysitting at a Church Street apartment. She was in fair condition at Albany Medical Center with multiple injuries and possible concussion. Schnoop was arraigned before Town Justice Walter Webster and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail without bail. The assault occurred at about 2 30 a.m. Wednesday, and the case was investigated by Hoosick Falls and State Police with Troy Police assisting.
