Bloodmobile comes to Berlin Central High Thursday

The Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Berlin Central High School cafeteria Thursday from 1 30 p m to 7 p m under the New York Red Cross Blood Program sponsored by the Student Council. Donors aged 17 to 66 weighing at least 110 pounds who have not donated recently may give. Nurses screen vitals and medical history before donation. The goal is 110 units to aid 31 hospitals in 43 counties of Northeastern New York.

Burglary Reported in Rensselaer on Second Avenue

Rensselaer police investigate a weekend burglary on Second Avenue where tools, mechanical equipment and jewelry worth 420 dollars were stolen between 4 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Michael P. Kelly, 25, of 1227 Broadway, Rensselaer, was jailed pending a June 2 hearing after arrest for instructing governmental administration and resisting arrest at 9:15 p.m. Monday near 1572 Third Street.

Wynantskill School Budget Meeting Sets 1977 78 Plan

Residents will discuss a 1 569 940 budget at Wynantskill Common School District annual meeting on June 7. The plan includes a new 29 passenger bus and heating system renovations at Main Avenue School. A trustee for a three year term will be elected.

Hudson man in critical condition after I 90 crash

40 year old Glenn H. Fish of Hudson was critically injured when his van left the I 90 right shoulder near the Route 150 bridge in East Greenbush. He oversteered attempting to return to the road and struck guard rails and a bridge abutment. State Police said the investigation continues.

Valatie Bridge Rail Collapses. Town Seeks Replacement

In Valatie a Route 203 side railing collapsed Friday night damaging the span. Mayor Harry Smith says the state DOT promised a new bridge within five years but has not acted. Traffic remains over the bridge though safety concerns rise. No injuries reported though youths were nearby.
